
Ambassador Mohammed Al-Hadhrami was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen in September 2019. Prior to this role, he served as Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2018. From 2022 to 2025, he served as Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the United States of America. He also held the position of Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Washington, D.C., from 2016 to 2018.
Ambassador Al-Hadhrami began his diplomatic career in 2004 and has since held a range of several positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in Yemen’s missions abroad. Between 2008 and 2012, he served at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Yemen to the United Nations, where he represented Yemen on the Executive Boards of UNDP, UNOPS, and UNFPA.
Ambassador Al-Hadhrami holds two master’s degrees: a Master’s in Development Policy from the Korea Development Institute (2013) and a Master’s in Diplomacy and International Relations from Fairleigh Dickinson University, USA (2010). He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University in 2002.
Born in 1979, Ambassador Al-Hadhrami is married and has three children.
